About Our UNESCO Society

Our Story
The UNESCO Society of Sujatha Vidyalaya, Matara was established in 2010 with the aim of promoting UNESCO's ideals among our students and the wider community. Since its inception, our society has been actively involved in various educational, scientific, and cultural activities that align with UNESCO's mission.
Our society is affiliated with the Sri Lanka National Commission for UNESCO and works closely with other UNESCO Associated Schools across the country and internationally. This network allows our students to participate in global initiatives and exchange programs, broadening their horizons and fostering a sense of global citizenship.
Over the years, we have organized numerous workshops, seminars, cultural events, and community service projects that have made a significant impact on our school and the local community. Our members have also represented Sujatha Vidyalaya at national and international UNESCO forums, bringing recognition to our school.
